Born opinionated on the East Coast when Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes were telling everyone where they belong, I grew up in a household where the importance of well-roundedness was greatly encouraged and history themed vacations were summer activities. My passion for writing was greatly inspired by endless episodes of The Waltons; my love for music developed from the constant playing of the family record player.
Thanks to winning a Beatles theme radio contest, I caught the traveling bug when I took my first airplane trip to England at the ripe old age of 14. Four years later, I would leave home and my country to study politics and history in Canada. While I did greatly participate in the academic side of life, I plunged myself into the newspaper world, photography, student politics and whiskey, all leading me to travel around Canada, meeting new people, hearing new ideas and attempting to quench my thirst to see the world.
Back home now, working for the government as a writer and looking for more stories, opinions and places to write about. Looking to start as a freelance writer (photographer down the line)– writing for businesses, non-profits and eventually diving into music and travel writing.
